Dutch Design Week Re-Design
Timeline: 5 weeks, July - August 2025. notes: Team work, Graphic / Poster / UX.UI / Mock-Up / Website Design.
Team: Grace, Phoebe, Lexi, Salena.
A 5 week project focusing on designing for 2025 dutch design week's poster, merchandise, marketing campaigns, and microsite.
Combining and exploring Ellen Lupton's design principles with
Chris Ashworth's unique style of Swiss Grit design, we collectively created our new design identity. Leading to investigations of various lines of design qualities, with our final 3 focus being disrupting grids + repetition, layered texture + colour/repetition, physical typography + colour.

Client Context
Dutch Design Week (DDW) takes place every October in Eindhoven. It highlights forward-thinking ideas in design, bringing together both new and established designers across disciplines.
The 2025 theme, “Past, Present, Possible,” explores how the past informs the present and how design can shape what’s next.

Our Research Approach
This year's mission days are focused on...
Living Environment.
Thriving Planet.
Digital Futures.
Health & Wellbeing.
Equal Society.
Directing our research with this year's theme and mission days, we did a comprehensive dive into all the current and past exhibitions to decide how to better approach our design direction.
Our team wanted to emphasize that past works shape our current and possible futures which is what ultimately guided our decision to choose past exhibits to guide our designs.
Another focus of exhibition choosing was understanding whether the exhibit fits under any of this year's missions, which directed us into our decisions of mock-up choices we chose to design.
Design Qualities + Guidelines

we made over 310+ posters as part of our research project requirement to develop our identity through analyzing and learning from Chris Ashworth's design qualities (excluding another 150+ posters for exploration) to finalize our design direction with our design qualities and guidelines as our anchor with experimentation and iterations.
